Data is transferred from the baton to the computer there are several places this data can go wrong.
=== Date and time problems ===
The date and time gets set in the baton when it is communicating with the PC. If the computer date and time is wrong the batons date and time will change. At the next download the result will be seen on the data.
== Clock stopped ==
If the data shows that the points are all being clocked at the same time this is a clocked stopped situation. First you need to eliminate user error. While the unit is communicating with a PC it shows the units current date and time, if this stands still the problem is the crystal or the clock chip and this would need to be fixed. If it does move it could be intermittent or the more likely cause is that the security officer has taken the points off the wall and is clocking them one after the other very fast.
== Clock odd dates/times ==
The clock can become corrupt or even change if the unit is electrocuted, this is normally corrected by one upload and the date and time will be corrected. If this does not work the clock chip would need to be replaced.
=== Corrupt data problems ===
Data can get corrupt by a faulty component or electrocution.
