If the baton does not clock points, does not download and the voltage is below 0.5v on the touch port, follw these tests before opening the unit.

1. Look at the touch port
2. Is there something stuck between the brass and the casing? this can cause a short and result in the symptoms you see.
3. Clean the touch port, the brass should look like brass and be yellow, the stainless steel should look silver.

If none of the above corrects the problem you will need to Open the baton after opening the baton a visual check usually locates the problem if not follow the following.

1. With a multimeter check for continuity along all wires.
2. Check the battery and replace if nesisary
3. Refer to the board components for repair
